Hello, welcome to Arista Advice! Question of the week is "Paul, should I be worried about inflation?" And the answer is no, there's always going to be something in the equity market that you could worry about. Go worry about something else and something that you can control instead of can't control, but before you just turn off the video and go do that, let me just share with you some really helpful information.
Voya Financial came out with some research. They came out with the consumer research survey in March of 2022, and they said it is normal to be worried about inflation because 66% of people are worried about the ability to save for retirement. 74% of Gen Xers are worried about inflation affecting their future retirement savings. 43% of people report tapping into their retirement finances to pay for expenses associated with inflation. Some other concerns are higher healthcare costs, market downturns, and more.
The good news is, is we've seen high inflation before, we will see it again. It's here, it's been here, but the Federal Reserve, we feel, is acting prudently by being very aggressive with it by raising interest rates, which is good to protect asset prices, monetary policy, and monetary goods.
