Hello, welcome to Arista Advice! Question of the week is: "Paul, what account contributions can I still make for 2021?" For 2021 contributions can still be made to Roth IRAs, traditional IRAs, HSA, and for business owners profit sharing and cash balance defined benefit plans. Generally, you have until Tax Day to make IRA contributions for the prior year.
The IRS, just last week, also told us that April 15th is no longer the deadline this year. It's going to be April 17th, giving you two extra days. How kind and generous are they!
This chart that I'm sharing with you gives you an outline for the 401(k)s, 403(b)s, traditional IRAs, Roth IRAs, and Section 457 plans and how you can still put some of those monies for 2021 in even though it's 2022. Talk with your financial fiduciary advisor in regards to your financial plan to maximize contributions always to your future retirement account.
